Week Eight has finally arrived!  Click HERE for a breakdown of what to expect.
Thank you for sharing your journey with us at AFWM.

To your Airman:
“No one can predict to what heights you can soar. Even you will not know until you spread your wings. The sky is no longer the limit.”
You have pushed yourselves farther and harder than you ever thought possible. You have achieved more than you ever hoped. And you have discovered exactly what you are made of. You are strong, confident, able and willing to tackle whatever lies ahead of you. BMT has prepared you for your future and has pointed you toward the sky. You can soar higher than you could ever dream because your family gave you the foundation on which the Air Force has helped to build the character that makes the person you are today. I am so proud of each and every one of you and your families. God Bless you and keep you safe in whatever you do and wherever you may go

COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Can I visit my Airman during Airmen’s Week?
No, Airmen’s Week visitation policy will remain the same as it was before Ceremony Week.

Will the Airmen have their cell phones?
No, they will not.  They may be allowed to call from the cell phones or payphones, so be prepared as you have been throughout BMT!  The Airmen will get their cell phones back right before they leave for tech school.

Can I write my Airman during Airmen’s Week?
The Airmen switch dorms from where they were before Ceremony Week.  Although they will strive to forward the mail, between that move and the one to tech school the following week, letters may not arrive.  We recommend sending your last letter the Wednesday of Week 6.  Feel free to write letters for each day for Airmen’s Week and give them to your Airman to take back after the ceremonies.  That way they can open one (or two!) a day.

What duties will they have (like the ones they had during BMT)?
They will have fewer duties, with most of the focus being on classroom training.

Is completing Airmen’s Week a requirement to graduate/leave Lackland?
Yes.

Can they fail Airmen’s Week?
Yes; Airman would then have to repeat Airmen’s Week.

When will my Airman leave for tech school?
Most Airman leave for tech the Monday directly after their Airmen’s Week ends.  Some may leave Sunday evening.

May I bring my Airman personal items over graduation weekend to take to tech school?
The current BMT policy remains the same for Airmen’s Week.  That means NO ELECTRONIC items, no major luggage.  Small items may be allowed, but your Airman must ask their MTI’s permission first.  Click HERE for more information.
