Doing the Happy Dance!!!! Another week down. By now your trainee’s flight is starting to work together. Things are getting easier for them and hopefully you will hear it in their voice if they call! Hang in there! They receive their Blues this week.  Those that went in Open General will also start interviews for potential Air Force/Space Force jobs.  Dream Sheets may come in here as well. These are when your trainees make requests for their first duty station selection by filling out an out a form, known as a “dream sheet,” to list their assignment preferences. They will have the opportunity to fill out up to eight stateside bases and eight overseas bases.  It is called a dream sheet for a reason. Leadership will consider their preferences; however, the overriding deciding factor is where the needs are for people in each AFSC (Air Force Specialty Code). If those needs coincide with one of your trainee’s preferences, GREAT, everyone will be happy. If it does not happen to coincide with one of your trainee’s preferences, your trainee will be assigned to where the need is.  Your trainee will likely find out where their first base will be sometime before graduating tech school.

Remember calls can come any day at any time! ALWAYS keep those cell phones charged and ready!
